What a Day at ELS Looks Like
Day Support runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Transportation is available through Modivcare — coordinate with your support coordinator to arrange pickup and drop-off. Individuals bring their own lunch and snacks. ELS covers the cost of most weekly community outings. Personal care support is available throughout the day.

Who Is Day Support For?
Center-Based Day Support is available to adults (18+) with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are enrolled in a qualifying Virginia Medicaid waiver.
Not sure if Day Support is the right fit? Our intake team is happy to talk through an individual's needs before a formal referral.
A Sample Day at ELS
Every day is shaped by the individuals in the room — here's what a typical day might look like.
Arrival & Morning Check-In
Participants arrive, settle in, and connect with staff. A brief group check-in sets the tone for the day.
Skill-Building Activities
Structured programming focused on individual goals — life skills, communication, creative arts, or fitness.
Morning Snack Break
A short break for individuals to enjoy their own snacks, rehydrate, and reset before the next activity.
Community Outing or Center Activity
Groups rotate between community outings (shopping, parks, events) and center-based activities like cooking or art.
Lunch
Lunch break — individuals enjoy their own brought lunch together, a time to relax and socialize.
Afternoon Programming
Afternoon activities vary by day and individual goals — fitness, music, games, community visits, or independent projects.
Afternoon Snack Break
A brief break for individuals to enjoy their own snacks and recharge before the wind-down period.
Wind-Down & Departure
Wrap-up activities, reflection, and preparation for pickup. Staff coordinate with Modivcare and caregivers for transportation home.
